Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born on October 13, 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a songwriter, singer and actress of in the United States. Ashanti became famous as when she was a teen. The year 2002 was when she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. Ashanti was featured as the Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's song, Always on Time as well as Fat Joe's What's luv? With Foolish and the track What's Luv at Number One and her first number one hit, she was the only woman to have two songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart top ten from the United States. The song is called What's Luv! Let's celebrate the special occasion by celebrating it together. Ashanti Shequoiya, better known by her nickname Ashanti is a New Yorker born in Glen Cove, New York on the 13th of the 13th of October in 1980. Tina Douglas was her mother and Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas had earlier had a voice. She is Kenashia's eldest sibling. Douglas has named her Ashanti after Ghana's Ashanti Empire which was a place where women held power and had an influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to follow this paradigm. James' grandfather worked for Martin Luther King Jr. as a civil rights activist during the 1960s. Her mother discovered her talents after hearing her sing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti appeared as a child extra on Spike Lee's Malcolm X in 1992 and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? Some of her appearances were in music video clips, such as K.R.S. Act One's MC's"Like They're Not Known" as well as 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. After being wooed by a variety of label labels, including Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti was unable to make it as a singer. Despite this she continued to sing within and around New York and began hanging in the Murder Inc. recording studio hoping to get a major break. Ashanti was originally featured on Big Pun's song How We Roll as a backing vocalist. Ashanti sang on Fat Joe's song"What's Luv?" and Ja Rule's Never On Time. The track she used for the debut single Foolish comes from DeBarge's Stay with Me, a 1983 track. Ashanti released her self-titled debut album in 2002, via Irv Goti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration her fourth studio album was launched on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on October 16, 2009. The singer played Latasha in Army Wives and starred in the film Christmas in the City. Aitch uses the Rock wit U song for Baby 10 March 2022.
